I have some archival stuff I don't want to lose, so it seems past time to make a remark of some kind.

1. This is my good time of year. I spend relatively little of my own time at the computer. I'm soaking up warmth and sunshine for the bad times.

2. I'm on a death march. This was amusing enough on a respectable salary. It is far less interesting for half the pay I had the last time. I think it's time to retire.

The hand you see groping above the water's surface may be mine.
